There is never enough money to do what I want in business. I have many plans, all of which cost money in some form or another but I feel too guilty taking such a large portion of money into my business when there are 5 children with needs here. I guess mother guilt just doesn’t end.
Weekend didn’t really do much. I can’t do much until my printer arrives. I have purposely steered clear of advertising and promotion the last 4 months because I was heavily pregnant, then had a newborn and then when I was trying to get my head around my life with a new little person. Of course now that I am ready to get back into it there’s no orders because I haven’t marketed my self for the last 4 months.
I did buy the www.momentsinchocolate.com domain, am yet to pay my web designer for it but its now mine. My printer hasn’t arrived yet. I was hoping it had but it doesn’t matter. It gives me some time to focus on another project.
I own a Stork Avenue franchise. Its the baby hand and feet moulds business. I don’t have the time or energy to go to customers houses to do personalised castings. So I thought I’d make a DIY kit to sell online and then eventually sell all sorts of baby keepsake products once I get a website going. The DIY kit was supposed to be provided by my franchisor but its the story of my life really. After a year there is still no DIY kit so I’ll justdamn well create it myself. I’ve sort of got a list going and quantities. I have no idea how businesses sell the complete DIY kit so cheaply. Theframe alone will cost me whatsomeof them sell it for.
Now my biggest problem is how do I deliver the frame and box. I want a really sturdy gold square box to house all the powders, glue, paint etc but how do I send the frame as well? Do I just heavily bubble wrap it and secure the box on top?
It seems like a lot of packaging will be used.
My younger sisterwas originall going to manage the business for me but she has just bought a house, is now working a 2nd job and doesn’t have the time to devote to it any more. So to save it sitting around doing nothing I need to getsomething going.
I figure I will create the kit and listit on ebay to begin with. Then when I make a bit of money I will get a website done then start listing other products as well.
Just need to get my act together to create the DIY kit. Thats my plan this week. And I need to also get someof these articles completely finished and submitted to start marketing myself again.
