Back online

I made a phone call Monday lunchtime and then a few hours later my phone line was dead. No dial tone, no internet. It was very distressing to think of being without the internet for any period of time.
Logged the fault. I was told they would check it within 2 days and then if need be make an appointment to come in and fix it. Well Thursday 8am rolls around and the phone guy knocks on my door. I was in my pyjamas, huslting kids around to get ready for school, my house was a diasaster as it normally is at that time of the morning and I had no vacuumed the mountain of dust behind the wall unit where the phone outlet is. Very embarassing.

The end of the story is my dog had chewed the phone cable out from underneath the house. Arrghhh. Do not even want to think about what that’s going to cost me as my fault this close to Christmas. But it feels very much like The dog ate my homework.

I am back online, slowly catching up as you do. Newsletter went out today in a fairly basic form. Thats all thats needed.

And even though this is somewhat of a public arena I will say I am getting a little bit annoyed with the time my web designer is taking. I emailed her in October regarding some website changes I wanted made, the main being the colour to chocolate related colours which I am very much looking forward to. I then had to email her a few weeks later to see if she got my email. She had been sick. No problem. I have 5 kids. I completely understand that things happen. So I re-emailed her the changes I wanted made. No answer. I emailed her about a week ago to see if she’d gotten my email. No answer as of yet.
I don’t have so uch of a problem with the time, it’s more the fact that there is no email to say blah blah is happening I will attend in blah blah time or get back to you. I’m not fussy. This would more than satisfy me.

If I knew how to make an Oscommerce change I would just do it myself but I have looked and looked for the file I need but can’t find it. I make al the other changes myself but this file I just cannot find. With only so few weeks left until Christmas I don’t even have the spare cash anymore but I would still like to be informed of where I’m up to with my enquiry.
Vent over.

I have no idea what to say about my last entry. If this was more of a private place I would reveal it but I just don’t know who is reading or who may hear about it. Frustrating that I can’t get it all out.
But I will say that I am in the beginning stages of talks with an awesome graphic designer who is going to do some awesome graphic work for me in the New Year. Ally from www.webgraphicsbyemail.com is lovely, talented and I can’t wait to reveal what she will be doing for me.

2008 is already shaping up to a busy and productive year. Yay for me.

Hi, all sounds a bit stressful. You forgot to mention how this all happens between looking after all those tiny little children of yours!! I think if I were in your shoes I’d probably be well and truly munching my way through the profits by now - YUM!!

If you are interested in changing web companies, I am more than happy with mine, Mantis Technologies www.mantictech.com.au check it out. They are very professional and are very on the ball when you ask for help!

Good luck with it all.

I’m so sorry to hear how frustrated you are with the design of your site. But on a brighter note we have dealt with Ally from webgraphicsbyemail and let me tell you she is the BEST!!! Even though she is in WA and we are NSW her work was very quick and very professional. We are so happy that we have used her and we will continue to.

Chin up sounds like 2008 will be a great year for you!!

Thanks :)

I am happy with my web designer. I just wish she would contact me and let me know whats going on. Even if it’s ‘I’m really busy, can’t fit you in for another month’ It’s fine. I’m not fussy.

But yes Ally is wonderful. She designed my logo and will embark on a massive project (massive for me, I’m very excited) sometime in the New Year.

Can’t wait.

Huge {{{hugs}}} to you… what a pain that must have been for you, and now with the website stuff too. I hope it’s all sorted out for you soon.

As for Ally, she’s done a few things for me too and I LOVE her work! The best thing for me is that she knows what I want even when I can’t describe it myself :)

I hope 2008 is a much better year for you.
